Erin, Our Wonderful Support Leader
Let me introduce Erin, one of our Support Leaders. (A Support Leader is a person who works with our employees behind the counter to create our smooth service and delicious offerings.)
Erin's interest in Brother Andre's Cafe began in an unique way. Her After-College-Mission-Year was in Detroit and, as a Pittsburgh girl, Erin had already heard all about Brother Andre's. So, every few weeks, she ordered cookies and coffee to share with the other volunteers. She loved the Pittsburgh connection, and her friends loved the treat.
(Her volunteer work was with an organization called Youthworks. Youthworks is an Art focused program for Elementary School children, and, later in the day, for High Schoolers. This seems like amazingly interesting Mission work, if you ask me.)
Erin's familiarity with Brother Andre's is pretty easy to understand because she and her husband, Sean, -also her High School Sweetheart,- grew up knowing the Pepmeyers; Noah Pepmeyer is our magnificent musician. The Pepmeyers are a nice bunch! So, she also got to know Emma and Bridgette. What a lucky coincidence for everyone!
Erin and her husband have a two-year-old, Agnes, and mom and daughter love to hang out! Since Disney and dance parties are high on their favorites list, I'd like to suggest a Disney themed dance party - we could all come!! Play-doh is also an Agnes fave. I guess it lets her explore her imagination, create anything, and tell everyone all about it. (I can still remember the joy of Play-doh for me when I was little; oddly, smashing it with my hands was my favorite part!)
On the two days a week that Erin works, she brings home a Brother Andre's treat for Agnes. Erin says that Agnes can sense a treat because she gets unusually excited to see her Mom! Imagine how great it's going to be when another Brother Andre's opens at Assumption (Erin's home Parish), and Agnes can smell the cookies baking (and Erin can walk to work)!
Thrifting is another mother- daughter hobby. They both appreciate the sweet number of shops around, and, when they go, Agnes gets a good book or a little toy and Erin gets to explore. Everybody is happy! I know there are a lot of good thrift stores in Pittsburgh. I know this because my sister and my mom love thrifting, and sometimes drag me along. (Actually, I do like looking around SOMETIMES-hoping to find something interesting or fun - like earrings or a print.)
Like me, Erin loves to travel, and especially loves Italy. (Although she does think that being Italian probably affects her opinion.) Erin and her husband went to Italy for their honeymoon. Okay, this Italy-thing sounds like ANOTHER perfect trip that I would like to take.
I know that Erin seems pretty Go, Go, Go, but sometimes she does relax. Handily, the family enjoys movies, and since Disney has a lot of great ones- it's an easy bet what's on that screen!
The most exciting news right now is - there will be a new baby in March. Erin, Sean, Agnes, her family, and all of us -can't wait to meet the new little one. It will be great!
Erin is a wonderful and gentle person, and we love having her at Brother Andre's Cafe.
