Phil is great! Most of you already know this, but did you know he is also Danny's brother? Danny is one of our many wonderful team members. Phil's original discovery of Brother Andre's was through his mom, Dolores, who is part of the Epiphany Parish staff. Soon after that, Phil became a friend of Father Chris.
Phil absolutely loves BA! He finds everyone to be happy and laughing. I can totally testify to that! All our Team Members, support staff, managers and volunteers are very happy and love to laugh.
Phil's favorite part of the cafe is...can anyone guess? 3 2 1. That's right, the Team members. He enjoys seeing their work and prayer, and thinks it's beautiful. That's so true, prayer is a powerful thing. It got our mission started and responded to so many wonderful, hard working people with IDD!
Recently, Phil has decided to become a Priest. We are beyond excited for his new adventures (even though we will miss him). I asked Phil what made him want to become a priest. He said that, while in Rome, he saw the inspiring beauty. He began to listen to God calling him, and put his total trust in God and His will. Love that! I think we can all take that advice. Sometime when life gets hard, I have trouble trusting in God, but I have to remember that God is ALWAYS on my side. Actually, He's on your side too! I think Phil will make an amazing priest someday.
Phil has three brothers (including our famous Danny) and two sisters-in-law. There are also three nephews. That's sure a lot of boys!
Phil has some really fun hobbies. He recently started photography. I can totally see him taking some really cool pictures. Phil also likes to take walks. Taking walks is one of my favorite things too! I think Phil should put those two things together and take pictures on a walk.
Phil and his family really like hockey. In fact, Phil is a solid hockey player. I'd love to see him play. Maybe instead of a Priests vs Fire Fighters basketball game fund- raiser, we should have a hockey game- hahaha! Maybe I'll have to make it happen. I'm betting on Phil's team.
When Phil is ready to relax, he likes some very cool movies: 'Mighty Ducks', 'Miracle on Ice', and 'Captain America'.
He also likes to listen to music and watch a little TV. His favorite shows include 'Wings' and 'Psyche'. Both are about brothers or friends working together to solve a problem. That sounds like it would be very entertaining and interesting to a guy who has so any brothers. Along with movies and TV shows, Phil also likes music and books. "Lamb's Supper' by Scott Hahn, 'The Four Loves" by C.S. Lewis, and 'John Paul II' by Jay Evans. It seems Phil has read some really cool stuff.
Now, as far as music, Phil enjoys Country, Pop and Christian. Great minds think alike. I also like all those genres. While Phil likes a lot of different music, his favorite is John Denver. He loves him so much, he played him for me when I was visiting Assumption BA. He was okay. Hahahaha, just kidding, he was fantastic.
We are so thankful that we got to have Phil for a period of time. He's such a stand-up guy and we know he'll be super successful and inspiring.
