Our Rosary

Our Rosary

The Rosary, a prayer especially loved by Mary, is miraculously powerful. She asks us to pray it often.

This is why Brother Andre's began a weekly Rosary recitation, which was, initially,  part of our Josh Haskins prayer club. Josh was a young man who was born with a severe disability, Pelizaeus Merzbacher. This neurological condition causes serious mobility and respiratory issues. These issues severely restricted Josh. His family - Dad (Bill), Mom (Carol), and three siblings- all loved and cared for Josh, who passed away in 2021. His family remains dear to all of Brother Andre's Team. So, the recitation of the Rosary was, at first, to pray for, and then to remember, Josh.

While we still honor Josh, we have expanded our intentions to include all people with disabilities. We also pray for personal intentions. In our Epiphany Cafe, there is a prayer board- where anyone can write requests, and we will pray for them. So, if you're in need of some prayers, make certain to drop by and write them on our board- so we can pray with you.

Our BA's family Rosary is on YouTube every Wednesday evening at 8. This production of the Rosary has gone through many stages. At the beginning, we used to gather on Zoom. Even though I liked being able to talk before and after praying, I think YouTube is the best platform for this. It's so easy to go back and watch it any time.

The Program aspect of the Rosary recitation has also evolved. Patrick is in charge of introducing everyone. Each week a guest Priest is the leader and a different Team member is the responder. After Patrick's introductions, he asks the Priests some questions. I love getting to hear about the Priest's life experience; it is so cool!  We have had some really sweet guest Priests. Of course, we have had our favs like Father Chris and Father Joe. (The two troublemakers! Just joking- hahaha- they're The Best.) We have also had some amazing Bishops and wonderful Priests -like Father Bryce- whose sense of Peace and kindness are inspiring. I feel like we get to know each of our guest leaders (a little) at Rosary time.

I'm so glad Brother Andre's people can pray the Rosary together and honor so many requests. Make sure to catch the Rosary recitation on our FaceBook page and on YouTube every Wednesday at 8pm. As Hallow says: Stay Prayed Up!
