Nicholas
I'd like to introduce you to Nicholas. He is an Assumption employee because he and his Mom came to the Grand Opening and fell in love with it. Soon after that, he was hired.
Nicholas enjoys vacuuming and decorating supplies, BUT his absolutely best work is designing cards with his fabulous handwriting and art. I've seen his work and it is amazing! He also loves the Dance Parties! (When I went to Assumption to interview everyone, I heard about their great Dance Parties AT WORK.) Nicholas even showed me some of his moves. Honestly, I'm a little jealous! I might have to start a Dance Party Day at Epiphany!
Nicholas' education helped him become the happy, good worker he is. He had a lot of opportunities to learn about the world of work. He loved Seneca Valley High School where he participated in a community-based vocational training program. This program included running a coffee shop called The Raider Roast. That sounds so awesome! I wish my high school had a coffee shop! I would have been their best yummy treats customer!
After high school, Nicholas participated in two different transitional programs. One was at Slippery Rock, and was a one-year job training program. There, he learned many general job skills. Nicholas also graduated from UPMC Passavant Project Search Program. I don't know much about that program but it exposes the students to various health care jobs and to the required skills. I bet all of these programs were great and I'm sure Nickolas is thankful for all of the opportunities he's received.
Nicholas is an amazing guy with many, many interesting dimensions. First, he is a triplet- how wonderful and unique! (I've known only one other set of triplets.) I have met his sweet triplet-sister and hope to meet their triplet-brother! Also, Nicholas can name the capitols, can describe the flags, and can identify the statehood dates of all 50 states. Something else that impressed me about Nicholas was that when I told him my birthday and year- he could immediately tell me on which day of the week I was born! This triplet has a lot of crazy talent! I applaud him! Next time you meet him, tell him your birthday, and watch him work his magic!
I also know Nicholas' favorite activities and his travel 'wish'. He enjoys walking, running, and swimming- which are solid and healthy. I bet he loves each activity in a different way. After exercising, Nicholas watches TV. 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and 'Slime Time NFL' are his favorite shows. I wonder if NFL players get slimed in that show. Now, that would certainly be entertaining. When I asked Nicholas to name a place he hadn't been and would love to go, he immediately said, "Hawaii"! Surfing, studying the history of Pearl Harbor, and seeing Volcano National Park are his priorities. I would say visiting the amazingly beautiful beaches would be my number one priority -if (and when) I go to Hawaii!
Nicholas calls himself 'the man with the plan'. I love that this guy has nicknamed himself! I think we should each come up with our own nickname. Mine would definitely be something with 'sassy' in it.
Nicholas is a hard worker, a good guy, and really fun to talk to. Make sure you stop into Assumption on Thursdays or Fridays to see him! It will totally be worth your while.
