Match Madness, 2025
It was that time of year again! Yes, I'm talking about Match Madness! This annual fundraiser supports both Mustard Seed and Brother Andre's missions.
First, a spoiler alert: there was NO basketball game this year. I was a little sad because I, naturally, love everything about those games: the cheering, the scoring, the fans, the fun.
Despite the changes, it was a fantastic fundraiser. This year, we did the majority of outreach on social media.. Each team member had his/her own professional promo video. In these wonderful videos, the team members told their stories. Some of us even had our parents in the videos. I love that the public got to know each one of us a little more.
These videos were posted over a span of three days -from Thursday to Sunday - for our 72 hour fundraiser. Our goal was to raise $20,000. And right before the 10 o'clock Mass on Sunday, we had raised $17,000. During the Mass, we reached our goal! Since our total was matched, our final proceeds were $40,000! How incredible!
After Mass, everyone came down to the Cafe for some family fun. We had lots of yummy treats, such as hot dogs and ice cream, and, of course, we had cookies and coffee.
Outside in the Courtyard, there was a Bounce House. Unfortunately, I didn't go out because I couldn't get through the parked cars. I did, however, hear lots of laughter and some screams of joy. I wanted so badly to see Father Chris in the Bounce House, but it didn't happen. Someday, I will see that!
Back inside, Morgan was sharing her beautifully chosen flowers. Morgan's flower choices reflect her thoughtfulness. People were taking their flowers to the Blessed Mother in the Courtyard, and Morgan was kind enough to take mine there too.
Everyone seemed to be having a good time just laughing and talking. Of course, I had to hang out with my girl, Bridge. (Bridge is my nickname for Bridgette.) Like always, we had a great time together.
Match Madness continues to be a fantastic event. Thank You to everyone who donated, we are very, very grateful.
